Delay 1968 compiled some of the first seven tracks that Can had ever recorded. Can had originally intended to have this release be their first but issued the project in 1981. The album featured vocalist Malcolm Mooney, with Holger Czukay on bass, Michael Karoli on guitar, Jaki Liebezeit on drums and saxophone, and Irmin Schmidt on the keyboard. Delay was one of two albums that involved singer Malcolm Mooney, before Damo Suzuki was recruited to be the lead singer of Can.

Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is. Oh how I long for this album in vinyl format! Such smoothness. Such warmth. Such execution. This music begs to be taken along and woven into memories. Everyone I’ve shared this album with has loved it. The music speaks far and wide. Shouting out to a fellow follower, Brian Lehmann, for his excellent taste in music.
